Warragul & District Garden Club
Established 1979
We are a group of friendly, like-minded people who meet monthly to discuss, learn, show and compare all things gardening. We welcome anyone who shares our interest in gardening.
About us:
v We meet at the Senior Citizens Centre, Mason Street, Warragul on the 4th Monday of each month (except December or when public holidays clash).
v Doors open 9am and meeting commences at 9.30am. Exhibits for the show bench to be placed for judging prior to 9.30am. Flower stewards can assist with placing of exhibits if required.
v Points are awarded to the winners of each section on the show bench, totalled at the end of the year and prizes awarded to winners of the categories and the most successful exhibitor overall.
v We have guest speakers talking on a wide range of topics, mostly related to gardening.
v With the combined knowledge members have, any garden problems or plant identification can usually be answered.
v We have a stall where members can sell excess produce from their garden. 10% to the club.
v Each month we have lucky door prizes of plants donated by Home Timber & Hardware, Drouin.
v Bus trips to places of interest are organised (subject to sufficient numbers). Wheelchairs & walkers available for use. (Purchased by a grant from Baw Baw Shire.)
v We enjoy a tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat at our meetings.
v Membership, which covers insurance in only $15 per year and we pay a $2 meeting fee which goes towards hall rental and morning tea.
v We have our own website supported by sponsors which is kept up to date with our latest news and photos.
